After graduating in Audiovisual Communication at Ramón Llull University in Barcelona and getting a degree in Film Direction from NYFA in New York, Mireia Pujol began her career in the world of fiction.
During university she directs and writes two short films: “Boda de Heroes” (shot in 16mm, included in the film “Chaotic Ana” by Julio Medem) and “Quédate” (35mm, starring Juan Echanove and Melani Olivares). Soon she worked in several film productions, being close to prestigious directors such as José Luis Cuerda (“The Education of the Fairies” and “The Blind Sunflowers”) and Fernando León de Aranoa (“Princesas”). These years of experience in the world of cinema push her to become an audiovisual director.
She currently works in advertising, both nationally and internationally, having directed campaigns for Audi, Coca Cola, American Express, Dewars White Label, Vodafone, McDonalds, Sitges Film Festival, etc. Her works have been awarded in some international festivals such as El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Cíclope Awards and CdeC.
She has recently written and directed a short documentary on the migration conflict in Europe entitled “Diary of Hunger” (16mm), selected by the prestigious Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA) and the Málaga Festival.
She is currently in the process of co-writing her first feature titled “Vera” with screenwriter Valentina Viso.
