Gönenç Uyanik's Biography

Gonenç Uyanik is an Istanbul Based director who is specialized in Commercials and Drama’s looking to tell sincere & realistic stories with fresh & epic shots. He has been directing commercials since 2011 in Turkish, European and Middle East market and have directed for many Global Brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, P&G, Hyundai, ING, Netflix, Vodafone, Ikea, Microsoft, Cornetto, Beko, Efes…

Gonenç was selected in Unusuals Creative Black Book in Cannes/ France as upcoming young commercial director in 2010 and he won Best Commercial Director Award in 2013, Perfection in Execution Award in 2014 in Crystal Apple Awards. He has been invited to the jury commity of Crystal Apple Awards in 2014, 2015 & 2019 and voted the creative commercials of the years in many sections.

He directed two feature films called Feeling blue & 31 and Hesapta Ask. Feeling Blue & 31 was selected in If Istanbul Film Festival 2010 and was screened in this festival for the first time and Hesapta Ask became a cult for teenage viewers with the criticism of social media. While working on commercial projects Gonenç also directed the two of first Netflix Original TV Shows produced in Turkey. The Protector (2018) & The Gift (2019)

Gonenc is restless & hardwoking who is always in search for new challanges, new styles and project oriented creative working processes which makes him to force the limits and try different shooting & editing methods.
