Alberto Blanco

Alberto Blanco's Biography

Alberto Blanco was born in Barcelona (Spain) in 1980. When he was a teenager, and influenced by the westerns he saw with his father time and time again, he decided to devote his life to cinema.
After graduating in the ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya), he attended an intensive filmmaking workshop at the Escuela de Cine de San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba).
Back in Barcelona he decided to pay tribute to his father writing and directing the short film Midday Cowboy, a 35mm western awarded in the US, Spain or Iceland among other countries.
During 2010 he wrote and directed the documentary short film Criterioh, which has won awards in more than 30 international film festivals and has been screened all over the world by Canal+.
In 2011 Red Bull chose Alberto to direct a documentary on Middle East’s drift culture. The result, Curve your Way, has won acclaim from both audience and critics.
In 2013 and 2014 he directed the Red Bull global campaigns and established its very own and recognizable signature, working with superstars like Pharrell Williams or Blake Griffin.
His commercial work has taken him to shoot in Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Berlin with some of the most relevant advertising agencies for clients such as Red Bull, Audi, San Miguel or Electronic Arts.
Alberto shoots commercials, documentaries, music videos or anything that catches his attention, anywhere.
